Why The Ninfa? Q&A Series — with Rob Ayala
We are often asked that question. Why the Ninfa? In a cigar world that’s notably trending to larger ring gauges, why go against the grain?
Well, put simply, hubris!
I love thin gauge cigars. If we're losing the rich heritage of this portfolio, then I am bloody well going to bring it back myself.
When the Partagas Serie De Connoisseur no 3 was lost to us, I committed to bringing out a Carlota to replace it, and it has been a continued stunning success. The Punch Ninfa (discontinued 2002) was an all-time favourite of mine and I wanted to get as close as possible to replicating the experience. Hamlet did a masterful blending job and today the Ninfa is in the top 3 selling cigars of our burgeoning portfolio. I understand full well that thin gauge cigars don’t deliver the same ROI as large gauge monoliths. I don’t give a rat’s arse.
We make cigars that we love, full stop. Thankfully, plenty of cigar lovers agree with me!
Our Ninfa is enjoyed by new and experienced cigar lovers alike. It delivers loads of flavour in a sexy, approachable format at a price point that puts the “big boys” to shame. The Desnudo/Nudie Ninfa is only rolled by one pair of lovely ladies at Fabrica 5. This allows us to maintain blend integrity and quality control.
Viva the skinny revolution!
